The original name of the event was Mudsummer Classic, but in 2016 it faced a trademark issue with a baseball league, and it was renamed as the new name. The first-ever race was held in 2013. The change in format from 8 lasting laps to 10 lasting laps was made in 2014 and also the requirement from the drivers to pit was eliminated.
