On the date of 2nd November 2007 the founder, chairman, and CEO of Speedway Motorsports Incorporation named O. Bruton Smith has agreed to buy New Hampshire International Speedway from the former owners named Gary Bahre & Bob. The last documents were closed & completed on 11th January 2008. This finalizes the purchase of the new track which renamed as New Hampshire Motor Speedway aka NHMS.


NHMS that opened in the year 1990 has the honor of hosting two events of Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series every year. It is situated at the one hour drive of north Boston Loudon, New Hampshire. It also has other names; Bryar Motorsports Park from 1960 to 1989 and New Hampshire International Speedway from 1990 to 2007. The latest census reports say the population within the area of 200 miles of the track is 18 million. The track can be easily accessible through Interstate highways from every metro area in the northeast US & east Canada.


NHMS is on the 1200 acres area. This multi-purpose use facility is the biggest and largest sports facility in New England. It has a length of 1.058 miles with the shape of an oval. It has a capacity of 88000 seats. The oval track is made of asphalt and granite. Turns have the banking degree of 12 and straightway have one-degree banking.


NHMS is hosting the only Nascar XFINITY Series, Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series and Nascar Camping World Truck Series main events that occurred in 6th state New England. Including the major Nascar race series, this track is hosting multiple regional professional events that include; American-Canadian Tour, Nascar Whelen Modified Tour, and Nascar K&N Pro Series East.


Records made on track are; Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series Qualifying: Brad Keselowski with 140.598 mph on 20th September 2014. Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series Race: Jeff Burton with 117.134 mph 13th July 1997. Nascar Xfinity Series Qualifying: Kyle Busch with 131.916 mph on 13th July 2013.

 

Nascar Xfinity Series Race: Kyle Busch with 111.928 mph on 27th June 2009. Nascar Camping World Truck Series Qualifying: Austin Dillon with 133.296 mph on 26th September 2015. Nascar Sportsman Division Qualifying: T. W. Taylor with 112.887 mph 9th February 1990. Nascar Sportsman Division Race: Dennis Setzer with 85.250 mph 9th February 1990.
