Darlington Raceway is built for Nascar racing. It is situated in Darlington South Carolina. It has a nickname named as The Lady in Black and also called as The Track too Tough to Tame. It is termed by these names in many advertised as A Nascar Tradition. The track has a capacity of 58000 seats. This track has an egg-shaped oval design. It is owned and operated by International Speedway Corporation. Sixty-Eight years ago in 1949, the ground of this track broke. It was opened a year later in 1950 for the racing events. Its architect is Harold Brasington. This egg-shaped oval track has the surface of asphalt material. It has a length of 1.366 miles with a total of four turns. Turn 1 and turn 2 has a banking degree of 25. Turns 3 and 4 have a banking degree of 23. It font straight has the banking degree of 3 and back straight has the degree of 2. It has a lap record of 184.145 mph made by Aric Almirola on 11th April 2014 in the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series event.
Darlington Raceway has the Museum named as Stock Car Museum. This is an automotive museum focusing on the history of this track and stock car racing.

 

The exhibition includes a racing history of cars, classic cars, and memorabilia. Also includes cars that once driven at the Lady in Black by much-famed race drivers that include Darrell Waltrip, Richard Petty and Johnny Mantz in the 1950 Plymouth that was driven to win his 1st Southern 500 this track. The museum features National Motorsports Press Association also known as NMPA, it is the Hall of Fame of the Nascar racing sports. Hall of Famers at this museum include David Pearson, Junior Johnson, Alan Kulwicki, Lee Petty, Neil Bonnett, and Richard Petty. Museum conceived by the Nascar race stock car champion named Joe Weatherly, he was expired during the race at Riverside at the event of International Raceway in the year 1964. It was dedicated to him in the year 1965. Originally this museum was named Joe Weatherly Stock Car Museum at the time when it was expanded in 2003.


At the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series, there are lots of records made by different racers. Most wins of total 10 was held by David Person, Richard Petty was in the Top 5 with the total 25 times, in the most top 10 racers the driver include is Bill Elliot, Ricky Rudd has completed most races at the total of 17582 and the most laps led by the racer named as Dale Earnhardt with total of 2648.
